How the pick works
The featured pocket monster is drawn from a fixed, public hash of the date — nobody picks it by hand, and the same list comes out on every server, every time. During its day its shiny odds are 25x the usual, everywhere it can be encountered. Events run from 00:00 to 24:00 UTC.
