Catching & Farm Zones
Weaken a wild pocket monster, then throw a ball. Rarer zones hold rarer pocket monsters.
Your starter is a gift — every other pocket monster is caught in the wild. While farming, your active pocket monster battles wild encounters automatically.
To catch one, weaken it (drive its HP low without knocking it out), then throw a Poké Ball. Catch chance scales with the species' capture rate, remaining HP, and the ball you use (Poké < Great < Ultra). Auto-catch is free for everyone — your automation throws for you whether you are VIP or not. What VIP buys is the order: which balls the automation is allowed to spend. A free trainer's automation throws Poké Balls, and every other ball can still be thrown by hand, at exactly the same odds.
Zones are gated by your progress, from the Arredores de Pallet outside your home town to Dragon's Den and the depths of Cerulean Cave. Higher-tier zones spawn stronger and rarer pocket monsters.
